Mountain Glow

A couple more from the first sunrise.  The background mountains started to glow.  It was really cool.

Smoky Sunrise

I took a workshop in the Great Smoky Mountains last October.  This from the first sunrise session.

Reflecting

The light is a little harsh in this shot of the Fall River but I can’t always control when I can get to a location.  The reflection still works.  This fall sets up nicely for those.

Another Log

From the Onion River above the first slide.

Don’t walk this log either

The Light

Sometimes the light just does magical things.  This is a 5 sec exposure of little wavelets on Lake Superior a while before sunrise.  The sky was turning color and the lake started to glow.  I really like this one.

This is cool

A Pair of Moons

A couple shots of moonrise over Lake Superior.

A Slice of Onion

The spot I call the “Fairy Slide” on the Onion River had some great foam action last time.  One of the best swirls I’ve ever captured.

Need a burger to put this slice of onion on

A Pair of Sunsets

These are the same shot.  The first is processed naturally while the second is changed to liquid gold.  I like both.

Nice evening

Just golden

Long Ones

Sometimes if you just have a basic shot you can get a different feel going with a long exposure.  These are 45 and 50 sec.  I think they project serenity and capture how quiet it was on the lake that afternoon.

Peaceful, easy feeling

Resting in peace?
