Tree of Light

The Superior Hiking Trail Lakewalk Tombolo last July. I used a flash to light the Tombolo itself which gave me the benefit of freezing a wave also.

This is from last July in Grand Marais. I was camping at Kimball Lake, about a 20 min drive from town. Normally I would use a 2-3 stop GND filter for a sunrise but I was about 5 min. from town when it hit me that I had left my filter pack back in the tent. I didn’t have time to go back, but I did have plenty of time to swear before I reached the parking lot. 😉 Fortunately the clouds were just right that I was able to get some nice shots even without the filter.
